Abstract

Yellow-rumped warbler (Setophaga coronata) is one of the most common species of the Parulidae family in North America. Two recognized subspecies breed in the United States and Canada and migrate south during winter. Setophaga coronata coronata is a transient and winter resident in Cuba while Setophaga coronata auduboni had only been reported once in 2017 in Guanahacabibes. On October 12, 2022, it was observed and photographed an individual of S. c. auduboni in the locality El Vallecito, Sandino, Pinar del Rio. This report constitutes the second record of the subspecies for Cuba.
